Facilities
The farm is set in 170 acres of Staffordshire farmland, with the gradient of the land being ideal for training, there is over a mile of straight grass gallops, 8 furlongs of sand gallops and a Martin Collins Eco Track which covers 6 furlongs and was installed in 2006. Considerable time has been taken to build and renovate buildings with the sole purpose of building an environment which is ideal for training racehorses. There are 37 internal boxes based in a large American barn system, with two horse walkers located immediately at the back and then a further 15 boxes which are in the traditional listed brick yard which originally housed cows.In order to break yearlings we have built an indoor lunge ring which creates a safe and secure environment for the yearlings to begin and continue their education. We have a furlong round all weather trot which is in use daily.
Sand Pens are available to turn out horses, in order to add some variety into their daily routine. We have the facility to grow all our own oats and hay, this ensures the quality of feed is of a high standard. We have a yard sponsorship scheme, which enables owners to claim their VAT back on the training bills. This involves the horses wearing paddock sheets with the 'Ed McMahon racing' logo and the attendants shirt or jacket also bears the logo.
